GIRLS GAME 1: WEST 2, East 1

The first half was scoreless as both goalkeepers, the East’s Tyra Bell of Yorktown and the West’s Kayla White of Wawasee, recorded a number of saves and the defense of both teams played well.

Finally, the West’s Emily Morren of West Noble booted a goal into the net at the 36:21 mark of the second half to give her team a 1-0 lead. A little less than five minutes later, Jayden Murray of Rossville scored a goal to put the West in front at the 31:51 mark 2-0.

The East scored its first goal with 25:07 remaining in the game as Erin Huber from South Dearborn was able to tickle the twine, pulling the East to within 2-1.

No more scoring occurred in the contest, although both teams had several opportunities each to do so.
